Our Focus

Advocacy

Building strong relationships with the Mayor, City Council, the County Commissioners and the City and County legislative delegations with the intention of assertively influencing public policy and the allocation of available resources to critical issues impacting the City. This includes the many aspects of municipal finance reform and the inherent burden imposed by the State’s Third Class City legislation.

Chairperson’s Council

Regularly bringing together the economic development nonprofit leadership, private sector leadership and legislators (staff and volunteer leaders) to discuss and prioritize strategic level opportunities for the betterment of the City.

Community Safety

Focused attention on crime education and crime prevention, public policy and programmatic responses. Broadening the relationship with the City Bureau of Police, the Community Safety Coalition, Lancaster Safety Partners, the Downtown Investment District (DID) and others in the community seeking to positively impact community safety. Initial focus would be on the central business district, the northwest quadrant of the City and those areas where the camera network exists.

Development

Maintaining the financial sustainability of the Lancaster City Alliance thru supporting relationships with existing funders, the recruitment of new funders, utilizing volunteers and seeking out innovative funding to undertake specific programs and initiatives of the organization.

Lancaster-County-Convention-Center

Economic Development and Planning

Working in close collaboration with public and private sector leadership, to arrive at long-term, strategic development and re-development strategies to insure planned, successful development for the City by identifying logical next steps to development, needed resources and recognized impediments.

Marketing

Developing marketing opportunities for the City and the Lancaster City Alliance while leveraging  & strengthening relationships to ensure a coordinated approach to marketing the City.

Neighborhood Development

Developing ways to engage neighborhood residents and businesses in the improvement of the quality of life and investment in their communities throughout the city.
