The Lancaster City Alliance is pleased to welcome Ricardo Almodovar
to the newly created position of Neighborhood Enhancement Projects Coordinator. Almodovar, of Lancaster City, will use his expertise in community organizing and mastery of both English and Spanish to connect with neighborhoods south of King Street where Lancaster City Alliance has several economic development initiatives in place.
Ricardo was born and raised in Lancaster and graduated from McCaskey High School. He continued his studies at HACC-Lancaster Campus obtaining an Associate degree in Social Science and subsequently at Millersville University with a Bachelor’s Degree in International Studies and Spanish Language. After graduation, he began his career as a community organizer at a non-profit social justice organization in Allentown where he was key in growing the organizational base and started the first committees still active in the Lehigh Valley. He decided to return to his hometown to be closer to his family, play a strong role in improving his hometown, and to create change.
“Returning to Lancaster after a three-year hiatus, I’ve seen so many changes, and I’m amazed at how well people have been adapting and how great the city looks! I’ve witnessed some of it from the sidelines, but I’m excited to be directly involved in these development initiatives like the Façade Improvement Program.”
